Course Syllabus – What You will learn

01 Assess – Understand your current capability with an extensive self-assessment of your listening awareness and current capabilities. This will form the baseline of the program and will be used at the end of the program to measure your improvement.

You will be assessed in your listening mindset before and during 1:1, group, and video conferences. You will be evaluated across ten dimensions of your listening.

Previous participants assessed their average listening overall improvement across the ten dimensions to be a 38% increase.

02 Understand – The Five Levels of Listening form the foundational language for listening. 96% of Workplace Listeners are between Level I, II & III. The program’s focus is to build a solid and sustainable foundation at these levels.

During this phase of the program, you focus on self-reflection and daily application of the principles in your workplace discussions.

03 Adjust – During this phase of the program, you start to practice techniques in a safe and supportive environment with like-minded workplace professionals. Rather than role-playing, real-practice is the focus. Effective practice of live workplace issues, encourages higher impact outcomes. Most participants surprise themselves with the simple and practice nature of the techniques and how comfortable they are to implement them immediately in their next conversation.

During this time, learning is blended across 1:1, group and video conversations.

04 Re-assess – You will self-assess your progress across the 10 dimensions of listening. You will understand where you have made the largest improvements and ensure that you focus on sustaining them.

Rather than fixate where improvement was limited or marginal, the program looks to embed the areas of most considerable progress.

05 Sustain  – To ensure the change is maintained beyond the first 30-days, participants are encouraged to contact fellow course participants. This creates a sense of accountability beyond self. Regular progress checks with fellow participants and Oscar will ensure that momentum is lasting.

Participants will continue to engage with all past participants and connect with the alumni community.

The Monthly Alumni Online Community of Practice (50 minutes) where one Level of Listening is the focus and practice.
